Gouache on primed cut wood

This project was created during my exploration for a different project. I had minimal use of gouache and took the opportunity to dabble in a different art that had struck me. Without any references I decided to try my hand at a softer more pattern like approach. Flowers had always struck me so the first thing I made was the largest center bloom. After inspiration came to the shape of the wood felt like a metaphor for the circle of life, so became the circle of bloom.
